Common names are not enough
A seller may use pomelo, pummelo or grapefruit loosely. Ask for the scientific name and plant part. The Chinese pharmacopoeial definition concerns dried exocarp from specified Citrus grandis sources.
Harvest and processing matter
Huajuhong is traditionally prepared from immature or nearly mature fruit, with specific peel handling. A random peel removed from ripe supermarket pomelo is not automatically equivalent.
Specify before you compare price
Confirm source, origin, stage of harvest, outer peel versus whole rind, cut and intended use. A low price for generic citrus peel may not describe the material your buyer actually requires.
