Name and botanical identity

In Chinese pharmacopoeial terminology, Huajuhong is Citri Grandis Exocarpium, commonly translated as Tomentose Pummelo Peel. The source descriptions include Citrus grandis ‘Tomentosa’ and Citrus grandis (L.) Osbeck. Modern taxonomic references may place Citrus grandis under Citrus maxima.

Which part is used?

The material is the dried outer peel (exocarp) of immature or nearly mature fruit. Traditional descriptions include removal of pulp and some inner peel, followed by drying and shaping. This differs from whole fresh pomelo fruit or ordinary candied peel.

Traditional context is not a medical claim

Huajuhong appears in traditional Chinese materia medica. Historical uses should not be read as proof of clinical efficacy or as authorization to market a food or medicine in another country.
